February 8, 2008 guests and laughter

We have had our share of guests for dinner, for drinks, and for the night over the closing in on three years since we moved to Merida. When Gary and Dale Bader came and mentioned at the last minute that there would be four instead of two people arriving, we were skeptical. But they and Duane and Wendy could not have been more fun or more helpful -- I mean they hung our art and trimmed our palms and made scrumptious dip for parties!! And they made us laugh.

So when George Pitlik and Janet Stewart agreed to stay here this year around their bike trip in the Yucatan and driving trip through Belize, we were pretty sure that they too would be easy and fun ... and they were!! George insists on a three-day rule for guests (don't know if he does this for his home in Texas, but he does it for himself staying with other people), so we hardly knew they were here before they were gone again. And we laughed.

Also this week, we hosted a dinner with some people we'd met here awhile ago, but only recently realized that we quite liked -- Merle and Steve who live here and Chuck and Fred who insist they are moving to Belize.

We hardly stopped laughing the whole time we were together -- and it felt wonderful!!!
